Not to be confused with Luigi's Purple Coin Chaos.

Template:Missionbox Luigi's Purple Coins is the fifth mission of the Toy Time Galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy. The mission's objective is to collect 100 of the 150 Purple Coins.

Layout

The player starts on the underside of the 8-Bit Mario Bros. Planet, which resembles Luigi. Luigi's side is made up of disappearing and rotating platforms, like with Mario's side, though instead of lava, Luigi has poison.

There are 150 Purple Coins scattered around the planet, though the player only has to collect 100 of them, and the player is given three minutes to do so. Once 100 Purple Coins are collected, the Power Star appears on the starting platform. The player has to reach the Power Star before the remaining time is over.

Trivia

  • During this mission, if the player falls through a Flip Tile or Shrinking Tile, Mario or Luigi may oddly get burned. This may be because there is lava on the other side.
  • If the player manages to grab onto a ledge covered in poison, Mario or Luigi's head disappears.
