Template:Missionbox The Wilted Sunflowers is the fourth episode of Pinna Park in Super Mario Sunshine. The objective is to defeat the Snooze-A-Koopas around the beach. Completing this episode will cause Shadow Mario to appear near the Grand Pianta Statue holding a Yoshi Egg, and defeating him will unlock the use of Yoshi in several episodes of the levels.

Layout

Five Snooze-A-Koopas have made their home on the beach of Pinna Island and are gnawing at the roots of the Sunflower Kids and the Great Sunflower, causing them to wilt. For every Snooze-A-Koopa defeated, a Sunflower Kid will be restored, with defeating the last Snooze-A-Koopa restoring the Great Sunflower. To defeat a Snooze-A-Koopa, the player has to spray one with F.L.U.D.D. until it wakes up. The Snooze-A-Koopa will then attempt to attack Mario by jumping into the air and landing on him. If the Koopa lands in the sand, it'll will become stuck for a brief period of time, in which case the player has to Ground Pound the Snooze-A-Koopa to defeat it. The player has to repeat this method with the other four Snooze-A-Koopas, though the final Koopa won't remain in the sand as long as the others. Once all the Snooze-A-Koopas have been defeated, the Great Sunflower will reward the player with the Shine Sprite.

Upon defeating a Snooze-A-Koopa, a patch of regular sunflowers will spawn were it was defeated. In later episodes, however, the sunflower patches will be placed differently.
