In [[Cool, Cool Mountain]], the player should select ''Li'l Penguin Lost'' (doesn't need to be but it is best to select it) and go pick up the penguin at the start of the level. Instead of taking it to its mother, attempt to drop it down the chimney with {{button|n64|z}} of the nearby cabin. The little penguin should disappear down the chimney and be in the room with the [[Big Penguin]] but instead will appear to float in midair. Likely, there is an invisible boundary that only Mario can trigger and teleport to the Big Penguin.
In [[Cool, Cool Mountain]], the player should go pick up the baby penguin at the start of the level above the cabin. Instead of taking it to its mother, drop it down the chimney of said cabin with {{button|n64|z}} or {{button|n64|b}}. The little penguin will stand on an invisible boundary within the chimney. The player cannot grab the penguin again in this state, as Mario would enter the slide area with the [[Big Penguin]] if he were to enter the chimney. Leaving the area by way of the bridge warp and then returning will reset the baby penguin's position.
