===Luigi's Hanging Shadow: ''[[Luigi's Mansion]]''===
During the blackout that happens after the Boss battle of Area 3 on the Balcony in ''Luigi's Mansion'', Luigi journeys to the Telephone room.
If the player makes Luigi pick up the middle telephone in this room, and waits there until there is a lightning flash, they would find that Luigi's Shadow has been distorted in such a way that it looks like he has been hanged. Many people<ref>[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjejTiRoOgk/ A Luigi's Mansion Suicide: Easter Egg or Glitch?]</ref><ref>Yezpitelok, Maxwell and Cantrell, Asher (April 30 2011), [http://www.cracked.com/article_19172_8-creepy-video-game-urban-legends-that-happen-to-be-true.html 8 Creepy Video Game Urban Legends (That Happen to Be True)], ''Cracked''. In reality, the "Hanging Luigi" is actually a lighting glitch. Dynamic shadows are used on every object in the game, so the shadow appears this way because of the camera angle. When Luigi answers the phone, the camera is zoomed in and is angled up slightly. The lightning strikes ingame are originated from the camera position, so Luigi's shadow is then lifted off of the ground, and is angled to seem as though he was hanged.
