During the events of ''[[Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door]]'', Mario assumes the role of a detective while on the train to discover who stole Chef Shimi’s pot of stew. Following a trail of the delicious stew, Mario discovers the identity of the culprit. The pot of stew was stolen by none other than [[Heff T.]], the obese [[Toad (species)|Toad]]. Mario returns the pot and Chef Shimi rewards the “detective” with a [[Star Piece]].

Chef Shimi is a Cheep-Cheep chef who works on the Excess Express. As such, Shimi is in charge of preparing all the meals for the train’s upscale passengers. The chef’s first language is “Cheep-Cheep” so he often uses the wrong words when talking to non-Cheep-Cheeps.

During the events of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Mario assumes the role of a detective while on the train to discover who stole Chef Shimi’s pot of stew.
