When Mario goes there in hopes of finding a way to the Moon, he is informed that he must seek out Goldbob and General White if he wished to use the cannon. After he finally tracks them down, Mario speaks to the Fahr Outpost Mayor once more and the Giant Cannon is activated. It is, by far, the biggest cannon ever to be seen in a Mario game.
