WiiWare titles are downloadable games and applications for the Wii that could be found on the Wii Shop Channel. While many WiiWare channels such as the Check Mii Out Channel and the Everybody Votes Channel could be downloaded for free, as well as demos for select WiiWare games, WiiWare games could cost anywhere between 500 to 1,500 Wii Points. Unlike Virtual Console games, WiiWare games were original titles, and can all be played using a Wii Remote, unlike many Virtual Console games which required a Wii Classic Controller or a Nintendo GameCube Controller.

On January 30, 2019, the Wii Shop Channel was shut down, leaving WiiWare games inaccessible unless they were bought before January 30, 2019. Users can still re-download their prior purchases.
