The pronoun gameEdit
I realize pronouns can be a bit finicky to work with when no gender is confirmed for some characters, but in the case of Wiggler, the general enemy doesn't have a specific gender, so we stick with "it" or "them" unless a specific game says otherwise. Same thing with Shy Guy, though the word "Guy" implies male, and there hasn't been anything that says otherwise.
If a specific source says Wiggler is male in Mario Kart 7, could you show it?
