Upside-down Piranha Plants (also called Hanging Piranha Plants[1] and originally known as Upside Down (Headstand) Pakkun[2] and Reverse Pakkun[3]) are enemies in Super Mario Land. As their name indicates, they are Piranha Plant variants that; unlike the common ones present in the game, appear exclusively in upside-down pipes, which makes them more dangerous than normal Piranha Plants, as Mario cannot stand next to their pipes to keep them from emerging. Unlike normal Piranha Plants, which grant 100 points upon defeat, Upside-down Piranha Plants grant 400 points upon being defeated. Upside-down Piranha Plants only appear in World 4-1 and in World 4-2

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Upside-down Piranha Plant is mentioned briefly by Viridi during Palutena's Guidance dialogue for Piranha Plant.
