Onto the art!
Hello 'Shroom readers and welcome to Ongoing Fan Projects where I'll be updating you on artwork-related things in the Fan Creations board.
One thing you can count on in May is plenty of people getting stressed out due to the school year ending! I know I certainly do, what with exams and moving and all. But I digress. This month, I bring you a sprite that will hopefully bring a smile to your face for a few minutes at least, a Tanoomba from Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga! Look at it, with those silly ears! Now that I think about it, this might have been a sign that Nintendo was about to go nuts with the Tanooki power-up and put raccoon ears and tails on everything, starting with Goombas!
Hello readers, and welcome to another edition of What’s on the Box? This month I have chosen the North American boxart for ‘’Mario Kart 8’’ with the red case, which is different from other Wii U games which usually have a blue case. The boxart features Mario, Princess Peach, Luigi, Bowser, and Toad racing on Mario Circuit, with Mario and Princess Peach in a section of the track that uses the game’s main new gimmick, anti-gravity. Bowser can also be seen holding a Red Shell, this gimmick was introduced in ‘’Mario Kart: Double Dash!!’’, but had never returned, until now. The most interesting thing about this boxart is the aforementioned red casing, which is very odd for a motorsport game, as red usually means stop in these kinds of games. So why have it this colour? Maybe it’s because it’s Mario and he wears red, or possibly because in some motorsport before the race begins the starting lights are red, and when they go out the race begins. Perhaps the red colouring is your starting light, and it goes out when you open up the game.
