Hello there, 'Shroom readers! Someone's been hiding eggs around The 'Shroom headquarters... I've been trying to pick up as many as I can, because these things are kind of on a strict time limit. If we don't find them all, the place is going to smell really bad soon... Whose bright idea was it to use real eggs anyway?
I'm very excited to say that we've finally brought back 'Shroomfest! It's been a few years since our last one, so for those of you unfamiliar with it, it's a Splatfest-inspired event where the 'Shroom staff and all members of the community get to go head-to-head on the Mario Boards in a lighthearted debate over which team is superior! Make posts in support of your chosen team and create cool stuff, it's a fun time all around! This time, Sparks and I are trying to pick a favorite movie genre - fantasy or sci-fi? Maybe you can help us settle it! Check out the special section for it, and then join us on the forums!
Also, in case you haven't heard, our theme for the annual summer special issue (Issue 219) this June will be villains! We're celebrating some of the great foes of the Super Mario franchise, like Waluigi, Bowser, Waluigi, the Shadow Queen, Waluigi, and oh, did I mention Waluigi? Can't forget about him. Of course, your sections don't have to be about Mario villains, any of the baddies that you love to hate (or just love, because let's be honest, these guys are really good at being entertaining) will do! Be sure to think about what you'd like to write for the issue, whether that's a guest section or theming your current sections after villains!

Howdy everyone! Are y'all still adjusting from losing an hour of sleep? I kinda still am. How's April so far? I don't know about you but I've received lots of rain the past few weeks. You know what they say: April showers bring May flowers! I reckon we're gonna see many plants grow in the near future! Temperatures are rising too, so it's not long before we can open our windows and plug in the air conditioners!
Tomorrow's Easter Sunday! Will the Easter Bunny hide eggs close to your home? Will he leave behind candy/chocolate eggs? I'm not sure, but whatever happens be sure to spend the day with your friends and family! Have a great dinner too!
As for 'Shroom-related news, we've got some very nice guest sections this month! In Fake News, Technetium (talk) has a Police Blotter section set in Concordia, and ClawgripFan9001 is continuing the Year of Waluigi in Character Parade! He's not stopping there, as he also has the first half of an Easter-themed special in Palette Swap called Passion of the WAH! Additionally, check out a very terrific review of Skylanders: Trap Team by Boo1268 in Critic Corner (man, I loved Skylanders when I was a kid...)! Also, I've planted a Fun Stuff section that'll grow as time goes on - Pixel Personas! Somewhat inspired by the Wiki's latest April Fool's joke and the minigame Absent Minded from Super Mario Party, you'll have to closely examine three pixelated images of Mario characters and identify who they are! Additionally, 'Shroomfest starts today! What'll you choose: Fantasy or Sci-Fi? I don't mind your decision, but if you join team Fantasy you'll get ponies and dragons on your side... ;D Your call!
