Sub-referencing

Sub-referencing is a feature supported by the wiki software that allows details to be added to the same named reference. Its configuration option is disabled by default, so we cannot currently use the feature. I believe using sub-references would be superior to continuing to use the {{ref page}} and {{ref timestamp}} templates; the latter seem to be workarounds made redundant by a native solution. Sub-references work with reference previews and appear in references sections, while the templates simply appear in the body of each article next to the reference link. With these benefits in mind, could introducing sub-references be investigated? B700465189a9 (talk) 17:58, September 21, 2026 (UTC)

This feature is not available on our current version (1.43). I'll enable it after we update the software to 1.47 by the end of next year, and we can decide then. --Steve (talk) 18:06, September 21, 2026 (UTC)
