As can be seen by the title here, this article does not follow conventional naming standards, as it's currently using both the former name and the current name for the platform. I am creating this proposal so we can finally decide for once what to actually name this article. There are a few things to consider here. First and foremost, X (not to be confused with Jolene) redirects to this talk page's main page, and so does Twitter. Second of all, it's not just us that have an inconsistent naming scheme here. Its Wikipedia article calls it Twitter, despite the platform now being called X. There's also an even earlier name for this platform in early '06, which is Twttr (this won't be an option in the poll for arguably obvious reasons but still worth mentioning here). And for the final nail in the coffin, the multimedia categories use the current name of the platform. If either option 2 or 3 passes, those categories I mentioned should also be renamed to match the article title. Do note that this proposal will not modify the article content itself so the X logo will still be shown at the top instead of the Twitter logo.

The name of the article was decided in the proposal to split it from the List of references on the Internet mostly for the fact that Nintendo still uses both names concurrently. 1468z (talk) 18:38, January 31, 2026 (UTC)
