Conjectural name[edit]

It seems that an "intermission" refers to the scoreboard between courses in Grand Prix. The VS ruleset does not have the "intermission" option as shown in the direct, yet they mentioned the roads can be disabled there. Regardless of what the "intermission" option actually does, we are not at a point where we can confirm it is the name for the connecting roads.- YoYo Yoshi Head (light blue) from Mario Kart: Super Circuit (Talk) 06:03, April 30, 2025 (EDT)

Name confirmed: they're called "routes" ([1]) - YoYo Yoshi Head (light blue) from Mario Kart: Super Circuit (Talk) 12:05, May 17, 2025 (EDT)

Music tracks[edit]

I have been keeping track of the music tracks that can play on every grand prix intermission, should i add this list to the page? The grand prix intermissions differ from VS intermissions as they play only around 3 to 4 remixes that match one of the two connected tracks. I made this list here Pink Gold Peach (talk) 10:50, June 17, 2025 (EDT)

There definitely seems like there are specific sets of tracks that play during intermissions and not just random tracks. It's definitely worth adding. Ashley costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 08:15, June 17, 2025 (EDT)
I'll add them Pink Gold Peach (talk) 10:51, June 17, 2025 (EDT)
Added them, i added all track i could find, maybe there's something else still missing but i have checked dozens of gameplay videos and it seems pretty complete. Most GP intermissions have three tracks, some have four and the one from Toad's Factory to Bowser's Castle has six Pink Gold Peach (talk) 19:28, June 17, 2025 (EDT)

The individual routes in VS Race have sets of music for each of them as well. I only have the data for Mario Bros. Circuit to Wario Stadium but I have found that there is a large list of specific songs that play in specific routes that is about 84 songs long and that some seem to be dependent on the time of day. It would take a long time to actually find the amount of songs that play in each individual route and if there are any that will play at specific times, but I feel that they should also be added. After some further investigation, it appears some tracks are more likely to play in a specific order such as the sequence Piranha Plant Pipeline into Singapore Speedway into Waluigi Pinball into Baby Park as well as the Mario Kart Home Circuit Title Screen going into Cloudy Court Galaxy into Rock Rock Mountain into Mushroom Gorge happening multiple times on separate routes even after closing the game. The only things I haven't tested yet in this regard is an alternative vehicle/character combination or on routes outside of the Mario Bros. Circuit/Crown City/Wario Stadium/Choco Mountain area. The main conclusion I have come to is that there are specific orders depending on the previous song and the current time of day as the Pipeline sequence happened during night time and the Home Circuit sequence happened during the day. I was even able to correctly predict the next few song at times due to the data I collected before. There are still some cases I am unsure how the game will react such as a transition between day and night or vise versa. I'll keep looking into it and see what other sequences I can find and make a spreadsheet with the data.SleepyMagolor (talk) 20:31, September 19, 2025 (EDT)

Update to the previous discovery. It seems that it isn't a single constant sequence, but rather two sequences that play in order. If it is day, it will play one sequence of music until it reaches sunset in which it will pause and change to the other sequence for night. When it reaches sunrise, the night sequence will pause and resume with the day one. It seems that separate areas of the map have different sequences like the ghost, ice, and water areas. There also sometimes is an extra track that plays when you start a race that isn't at that part of the sequences rotation and I am still unsure what determines that it will play or even what it will be. Route Names[edit]

Some of the routes are returning tracks that have names, like moonview highway from mario kart wii, where should those names go? It's really nice having a reference for where they are because there are so many of them.

Where have they been given names officially? Ashley costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 02:03, June 30, 2025 (EDT)
