I don't think we should start making redirects for specific interpretations of characters as though they're separate entities that happen to share a page. There once was a time Super Mario Wiki thought this way, see Mario (film character) for when the 1993 film had separate articles for its versions of characters across the board, but one of the reasons they kept their pages for so long was because of a technicality in the story saying that these characters are not based on the video game characters within the fiction. At this point, I think we currently organize characters by real life design history, making having 1993 film characters split a mistake. Therefore, the only reason those redirects remain is precedent. Mario (Illumination) is currently the same as Mario, as far as the wiki is concerned since he looks like Mario. The precedent of the "film character" having existed for years shouldn't apply to "Mario (Illumination)". Therefore, this redirect should be deleted. Salmancer (talk) 08:25, June 15, 2025 (EDT)
