Team?[edit]

What team does this emblem represent? I think it just refers to King Bowser, considering his more recent title has been Lord Bowser. LinkTheLefty (talk) 19:03, 29 August 2017 (EDT)

Battle Stadium
Right, here's a bit of an explanation. There are six of these teams, being Lord Bowser, Luigi Gusters, Mario Super Motor Team, Princess Peach, Toad Mushroom Powered and Yoshi Runners (But potentially seven, I'm still deciding if the Wario Billionaires count). They are all definitely teams, as there is a standings board on which they all appear (I haven't uploaded it onto the Wiki, but I have it on my computer) and they often all appear together on vans, crowd banners, in pit areas, etc. Also, as mentioned on the page, Lord Bowser appears as the logo for the blue team, with the Mario Super Motor Team representing the red team. There's also something similar in Battle Stadium, as half of the course is Lord Bowser themed and the other half is Mario Super Motor Team themed. So the emblem represents the team called Lord Bowser. Does that answer your question? BBQ Turtle (talk) 06:13, 30 August 2017 (EDT)
But how do we know it represents a team/group/etc. instead of the character that goes by the same name, though, given there's also a plain Princess Peach emblem? LinkTheLefty (talk) 15:22, 30 August 2017 (EDT)
OK, the best way I can explain it is because they all appear together, in roughly the same forms. The logos are all in a similar style, and all of them have almost identical vans, they always appear with at least one of the other teams, and again there's the standings board thing, on which they all appear. They all appeared on the same texture sheet when I was going through the models, so it only seems logical that they're all teams, as the Mario Super Motor Team's name suggests it's a team, so all of the others would follow suit, I would've thought.BBQ Turtle (talk) 16:10, 30 August 2017 (EDT)
The Mario Super Motor Team, Luigi Gusters, Yoshi Runners, and Wario Billionaires definitely sound like they could be companies or groups with some relation to the playable racers, but Lord Bowser and Princess Peach (and for that matter, maybe including Toad if the Mushroom Powered part is taken as a slogan) are just those characters' names by themselves, so it doesn't give the same connotation. Maybe "Lord Bowser (sponsor)" would make more sense, although it's still a vague Bowser advertisement/symbol. LinkTheLefty (talk) 17:29, 30 August 2017 (EDT)
These would be the equivalent of real teams like Haas F1 Team and Scuderia Ferrari. In SNES Battle Course 1, there is a billboard (modeled after the player select screen from Super Mario Kart) with the six character teams on it. In this image, we can see four of them selected (upper right corner), and a board of each can be seen at each end of the course, near the ramps (except at the lower end, because of the perspective), as if they were the area of each team.

But is there an answer as to why it's considered a team when it's just labeled with the name of the character? I really don't follow that part. If it only represents one character, then it's not a team, no? LinkTheLefty (talk) 21:01, 30 August 2017 (EDT)
Mario Kart Stadium, from Mario Kart 8.
OK, if you look at the picture on the left, you will see Toad mechanics. The green ones are Luigi's (Part of the Luigi Gusters), the light blue ones are Yoshi's (Part of Yoshi Runners), but the yellow ones are Bowser's, and specifically Lord Bowser's. You can see the logo behind them, so they are quite clearly a part of that team. There are also appropriately colored Toads for Princess Peach, Toad Mushroom Powered and Mario Super Motor Team, they're just not visible in this picture, but are all accompanied by the Team's logos. And this isn't a one-off appearance, as Princess Peach and the Mario Super Motor Team Toads appear outside their respective garages in Royal Raceway. So the Toads are the members of the teams. Also, Toad Mushroom Powered is the full team name, and Mushroom Powered is not a slogan, that's how it appears on the standings board. BBQ Turtle (talk) 04:28, 31 August 2017 (EDT)
