French NIOL "Banane d'or" and "Bananes Dorées"Edit
I think it's time to stop erasing the French NIOL without even trying to understand. We can see on Nintendo French Canadian website that the name is not superficial and is there to describe the object. At second glance we can also see that the object is also called banane d'or in the English localization. So why not consider this name acceptable? If we reject this one, then we have to reject a ton of other names from other languages. Pingouinsandwich (talk) 08:08, June 21, 2025 (EDT)
- Those seem to be labels for what type of item they are rather than their actual names (it'd be like saying "a Green Star is also known as a Power Star" when a Green Star is just a type of Power Star), and since they translate to "golden banana", they can just go on that page instead as GDias suggested. I've removed the English "alternate name" and the recently added Traditional Chinese name for the same reason.

- I agree with you and thank you for explaining. However, there's one thing that always bothers me: on the Canadian site I quoted above, Golden Banans are cited as objects that are designated and not observed, as can be seen with the determiner ‘Les’.
