A '''Gloop''' is a smaller relative of [[Fangfish]] that appears only in ''[[Donkey Kong Land]]''. Gloops appear primarily in [[Kremlantis]], but they also make appearances in bonus rooms in other worlds. They have an appearance similar to a {{wp|Moorish idol}}. They slowly swim back and forth horizontally, and as such, they are not actively aggressive. However, they commonly appear in pairs in narrow passageways, making them more difficult to get past. They also tend to swim near pits where [[Flapper]]s are.

*Gloop's name is mentioned in an early draft for enemy names in the original ''[[Donkey Kong Country]]'', where it was paired with another fish enemy called "Bloop."<ref>{{file link|DKC general naming.jpg|Early DKC general naming sheet}}</ref> In the final version, Gloops were presumably replaced with [[Bitesize]] and [[Chomps Jr.]], neither of which is present in ''Donkey Kong Land''.
*In a ''Donkey Kong Land'' preview in ''[[Nintendo Power]]'', it can be seen that instead of Gloop, the game was [[List of Donkey Kong Land pre-release and unused content|originally]] to include a much larger fish known as "Pucka" while Fangfish was instead known as "Pucka Jr." Pucka has a similar fin position to Gloop, but it otherwise bears little resemblance.
