Silver Mario Amiibo Wave Placement

Seeing as the Silver Mario amiibo came out some time after the initial Mario Wave, shouldn't it be considered as Wave 2 (with the upcoming wave ultimately Wave 3)? Or was it just held off for a bit, but still considered Wave 1? 20:33, 14 June 2016 (EDT)
