Slime is a species, as well as a character, from the Dragon Quest series of games which is published by Square Enix. Slime appears as a playable character alongside Super Mario characters in Itadaki Street DS, Mario Sports Mix, and Fortune Street. Originating from the first Dragon Quest game, the Slime has become the mascot for the Dragon Quest series, and is a fairly common, weak enemy in the games.

Some Slimes appear in the Captain N: The Game Master episode "The Trojan Dragon" to battle the N Team only to lose and drop two gold coins each. The Slimes have a more menacing design than in the games and attack through spitting acidic slime. The sound effect used for their attack is Fire Mario's use of fireballs.

In Itadaki Street DS, Slime appears as a playable character. This game marks the first appearance of Slime alongside the Super Mario franchise characters. The Healslime, a subspecies to the Slimes also appearing in the Dragon Quest series, also appears in the game.
