The Present is a special item appearing in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. After taking on Bub's trouble at the Trouble Center, Mario discovers that Bub had gotten into a fight with his mother, and Bub wants to give his mother a present to make up.

The present contains either a Shroom Cake, a Keel Mango or a Fright Mask (based upon Mario's decision), along with an apology letter from Bub. Bub then has Mario deliver the present to Sylvia as he is afraid to do so himself. When Mario hands the present to Sylvia, she notices the letter and reads it.
