Jean de Fillet[1] is a skeleton Cheep Cheep that lives in both water and lava. Their name comes from "fillet", a boneless cut of meat (usually fish).
History
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island / Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3
It appears in two levels of Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and the exclusive Endless World of Yoshis stage in Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3. Despite being a Cheep Cheep's skeleton, it is larger than the Cheep Cheeps of Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. Jean de Fillets stick their heads out of the water or lava, then jump out, knocking Yoshi away if they touch him. They can be defeated with an egg or another projectile thrown at them.
Yoshi's New Island
In Yoshi's New Island, they are slightly smaller, and appear in Furious Fred de Fillet's Castle, along with a boss version named Furious Fred de Fillet.
