Elevator Key
Sprite of the blue Elevator Key for the first level of X-Naut Fortress in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Sprite of the red Elevator Key for the first sublevel of X-Naut Fortress in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
Description
"A key that operates an elevator in the X-Naut base."
First appearance Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (2004)

The Elevator Keys are two key cards in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. They are both found in the X-Naut Fortress. The first key is obtained by solving a puzzle where Mario must only step on the platforms that light up to get to the other side and to collect the key. This key is used to access the elevator, and the player can now go to sublevel 1 and 2. The second Elevator Key is guarded by a robotic Thwomp. Mario gets it after completing the 66th Annual Quirk Quiz. It allows access to sublevels 3 and 4.
