Pipe Frame

Template:Kart-infobox The Pipe Frame is the standard kart used in Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64 and Mario Kart: Super Circuit and a customizable kart part in Mario Kart 7. It is a basic, go kart looking kart part. In the first three installments of the Mario Kart series, the Pipe Frame acted as the main standard kart. The abilities of the kart depended on the driver so the kart itself had no strong or weak points.

Mario Kart 7

The Pipe Frame later appears in Mario Kart 7 as a retro kart body. In this game the kart offered a good boost in acceleration and off-road, but hindered in speed and weight. The Pipe Frame is one of the three kart parts to have a different color for each character.

Gold Standard

Template:Kart-infobox The Gold Standard (known as the Gold Kart in Europe and Australia) is an unlockable kart part in Mario Kart 7. It can be unlocked by collecting 20000 coins, or by earning 10000 VR in Wi-Fi races. Much like the Pipe Frame, it alters the stats for the kart, though the stats boost are mirrored. The Gold Standard gives a good boost for speed and weight, but hinders in acceleration and off-road.

When the Gold Standard body is combined with the Gold Tires and Gold Glider, they complete the whole Gold Standard. This kart gives great speed (the 2nd biggest boost in the game) and good weight, but has a negative handling boost, and abysmal off-road (the worst boost in the game).
