Mario and Luigi start at the Wild Wild West in a chariot pulled by ostros, with the plumbers being chased by several Snifits and Koopa riding on other Ostros, Koopa draws a Piranha Plant from his pocket and aims at the Mario bros., now the sniffits do the exact same thing. Mario goes to the back of the chariot and grabs a snake and uses it to fire at koopa and the Snifits. the sniffits were gaining on the mario bros. and a sniffit managed to get in the chariot. it then started approaching Mario, hit he grabbed it and sent it flying out of the chariot. then koopa tried to shoot Luigi, but it cut the ropes, which made the chariot go straight with no stopping, then Mario says "Bye bye birdies" then Luigi said "And bye bye us!". they were heading for a cliff, Luigi notices a brake and tells Mario to pull it, but then it broke. now they were sliding down the cliff and hit a rock which sent Mario, Luigi, Princess Toadstool and Toad flying off and landed on the ground.

King Koopa noticed them at the bottom of the cliff, he told his clan to go after them. that's when Toad notices a giant warp pipe leading somewhere, then the gang run in it, then King Koopa arrives, he threw a bob-omb at the warp pipe. the gang noticed the bob-omb and started running away. then the bob-omb explodes, collapsing the pipe entrance. it was dark, then Mario noticed a light, thinking it was the way out, Mario and friend followed. then the were in a big room filled with Gold Coins. Princess Toadstool said that it was the Lost Gold Coin Mine. While Toad was stuffing his pockets with Gold Coins, Luigi, worried the they're still trapped underground, didn't care about the mine. then Mario had the idea of digging out of the mine. they weren't sure where were they going.

As the Mario bros. were almost to the surface, they weren't still sure where were they headed. then they ended up in a town, Aa "empty" town, but then an old man passed by and scared the gang. Toad asked him who was he and where were they. His name was Calamity Clam. The town was the Roads of Mushroom. He said it was a "little ghost town". Toad asked if it had an assay office, and Calamity Clam said "yes". Now the gang went forth, Calamity Clam was found again and they found out he had many jobs in Roads of Mushroom. Toad asked Clam if the coins he had were real or not.

Trivia

  • When Mario said "Bye bye birdies", it was a pun of the musical Bye Bye Birdie.
