How are these Buzzy Beetles? Yes, the German name calls them that, but it's likely metaphorical (compare the Japanese name of Incoming Chomp), and nothing else backs up this claim. Binarystep (talk) 01:07, 13 May 2015 (EDT)

Yeah, I don't think they are Buzzy Beetles either. Just because the German name says it does... That doesn't mean they are. Like for example: Cloudtop Cruise says Sky Garden in its Japanese name, but it's not really Sky Garden. I agree with you, Binarystep. (talk|contribs) 01:31, 13 May 2015 (EDT)

Stop Calling These Buzzy Beetles

For some reason, Sky-Blue Spinies are considered derivatives of Buzzy Beetles, despite the only evidence of that being the German localization. Considering the lack of, well, just about anything else tying these to Buzzy Beetles in any way, I think we should stop calling them related.

(Not 100% sure that this needs a proposal, but doing this just to be safe.)

2. Baby Luigi (talk) I mostly interpreted the German name as an identifier, not a literal thing. It's a bit like thinking the California Gull lives exclusively in California, or that the horsefly looks like a horse or the spider monkey is part spider. Aside from the German name and the color of its shell, this creature has no similarities to the species it was named after, not even the fire-resistant properties, so it shouldn't be lumped under the Buzzy Beetle species.

1. Yoshi the Space Station Manager (talk) The references needs to stay because of the German name. It is like a Spiny and a Buzzy Beetle from the game married and had a baby. It has the properties of Spinies but the shell of a Buzzy Beetle (only with spikes). There is no need to get rid of the references.

@Yoshi the Space Station Manager: That's the thing, it doesn't have "the shell of a Buzzy Beetle". It's functionally the same as a Spiny, just with higher stats and a palette swap. I wasn't talking about It's exactly like the shell. I was talking about the color. The shell acts like a Spiny shell. The article itself says that they don't have the properties of Buzzy Beetles. If you get rid of the references in the article, you will have people who will wonder why the German version calls them Buzzy Beetle (Spiny). The answer is not getting rid of the German name either. Um, has the proposer even advocated getting rid of the references? All this proposal wants to achieve is to not lump Sky-Blue Spinies as a species or a species derivative of Buzzy Beetles. Ray Trace^(T|C) 12:23, 27 August 2016 (EDT)
