Sorbetti

Sorbetti is a boss appearing in the game Super Mario Galaxy 2 in the Freezy Flake Galaxy. It appears in the mission, "Sorbetti's Chilly Reception".

Appearance

It is a snow-covered spiked creature with two crystals for eyes and an evil grin. It also has a bulbous red nose that serves as his weak point. Its appearance overall makes it resemble a snow covered Super Big Tap-Tap.

Strategy

Mario will encounter Sorbetti and the monster will start rolling around the planetoid, which it is Sorbetti's only attack. Mario must use a Star Spin on Sorbetti's nose to hurt him, the same way he would for a boulder. However, icicles in the stage serve as an obstacle and hinder Mario's movement. If Sorbetti hits an icicle, he will move in a different direction, which may turn for the better or worse, depending on Mario's location. If Sorbetti hits Mario, he will laugh and move in a different direction. When Mario hits the boss, he will fly back and continue to roll. After Sorbetti is hit once more, he will become enraged and move around the arena faster and more erratically. When Mario finally hits Sorbetti a third time, the boss will be defeated and grant Mario the level's Power Star.
