A Portrait Ghost is a ghost that was once human (or was hinted to be) in the game Luigi's Mansion According to Prof. Elvin Gadd, the portrait ghosts were released from their paintings by Boos. Luigi had to vacuum up all of the portrait ghosts (except for very few "optional ghosts" like Mr. Luggs) Most of these ghosts gave pearls, which determined what color and style the painting turns out to be.
