Orbot is a robot built by Dr. Eggman to wait on him hand and foot and serves as one of his assistants. Orbot's main jobs are assisting Dr. Eggman in his schemes for world domination and making sure the processes of his plans are carried out correctly along with his counterpart Cubot. While Orbot is loyal to Eggman, he does not like him very much and usually points out his mistakes, much to Eggman's frustration.

In the Story Mode, Orbot only appears in the Tricksters bonus episodes, where after accusing Dr. Eggman of programming Metal Sonic so that he can defeat him and refusing to be challenged himself, he unsuccessfully tries to help set up a match between Waluigi and Metal Sonic. He then later tries to use the same technique Dr. Eggman used to convince Waluigi to set up a match with Wario, but when this fails he is offered by Dr. Eggman to Wario as a prize if he wins. Orbot later watches Dr. Eggman successfully produce Phantasmal Fog with the Fog urn, and after being confused by the sudden disappearance and reappearance of the Sonic Fog Imposter, Dr. Eggman explains the history of the urn. When he later suggests that Dr. Eggman hasn't been training for the Olympic Games, Dr. Eggman chases him and threatens to replace his voice chip. A badge of Orbot can be obtained from the badge machine.
