The Nintendo UNO cards

Nintendo UNO is an UNO-based card game with Mario twists and aesthetics, released in 2004 by Sababa Toys. While the rules and card types are mostly the same from a normal deck, the cards contains artwork of various characters from the Mario universe. One additional card type is also added to this deck, known as a "Power Card".

Cards

There are a total of 112 cards in the set. 108 of the cards are the same as those found in a standard UNO deck, with the remaining four being the Power Card.

The Power Card

The Power Card is an exclusive card to this deck. Players can play this card to make them "invincible" to any Draw 2 or Draw 4 cards played against them, nullifying the effects of those cards. After being played, the player who put down the card must decide what color the next card should be. If played any other time, it acts as a Wild Card. This card is worth 50 points if it is in another player's hand at the end of the game.

Trivia

  • Even though the direction of 3D artwork for the Mario franchise had changed two years prior, this game still represents all the characters (except for Luigi and Boolossus) with the Silicon Graphics artworks from the previous hardware generation.
