Template:Infobox Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games is a sports game that places Mario, Sonic, and their various allies against each other in Olympic events. The game has the official Beijing 2008 Olympics license and will feature environments based on actual Olympic venues.

The game will be available for both the Wii and Nintendo DS. It's scheduled for release on November 20th, 2007, with an Australian release just three days after.

At the end of the trailer on the official site, the Wi-Fi symbol was seen, proving that Wi-Fi Connection will be included in the game.

Confirmed Characters

Besides just Mario and Sonic, there will be a cast of over twenty characters in the game. Currently, eight others have been confirmed.

Speculated Characters

  • Princess Daisy: In a few screenshots, an orange flag with an orange and teal daisy was seen. This is Daisy's symbol, hinting she might be playable.
  • Wario: In a gameplay video, a yellow flag was seen being held by the audience. A white circle with a blue "W" inside was clearly seen.
  • Waluigi: In the same screenshot, a purple flag was seen being held by the audience. The symbol was hard to make out but looked like it had some of Waluigi's facial features. Another purple flag, clearly adorned with Waluigi's symbol, can also be seen in recent screenshots.
  • Shadow the Hedgehog: In the same screenshot, a black flag in the shape of Shadow's head and with his crimson-encircled eyes was seen.
