Template:Minigame-infobox Launch Break is a Free-for-All minigame featured in Mario Party 9. Its name is a pun on "lunch break". The concept of this minigame is similar to Pump, Pump and Away from Mario Party 3.

Gameplay

The rockets in the space.

The game involves the players pumping machines to launch rockets. An energy meter is displayed on the screen, and is split into three sections. When the pointer is pointing to the first section, the players must press One Button as fast as they can. The same must be done during the second section, but pressing Two Button. During the last section, the players must shake the Wii Remote until the bar is completely filled.

Ending

The rockets blasting off.

The players enter their rockets, and they head for space. There are three phases where the rocket stops and breaks off, so it is dependent on how well the players did per button mash session. The player who wins the minigame is launched overall higher. The background music changes to a slower outer space theme as they reach the deep space. Occasionally, an UFO is seen flying near the end of the minigame.
