Tropical Toucans can be carriers of the disease and can transmit it through bites, otherwise the origins and background of the disease are a mystery. Its only known cure is the nectar of the rare Tin-Banana-Tu banana, which is a purple species of banana with an extremely foul taste, according to [[King K. Rool]]. Also a person can be immune to the disease if they have a very healthy diet, as [[General Klump]] mentioned that he rarely gets sick in general due to eating 100 garlic cloves a day: and so is not affected by Krusha's infection.

Kongo Bongo Gone Wrongo is the mysterious, contagious, and fatal disease that Diddy Kong catches after being bitten by its carrier, Polly Roger, the treacherous Tropical Toucan. It is only seen once in the 29th episode of the Donkey Kong Country animated TV series, Speak No Evil, Dude.

Tropical Toucans can be carriers of the disease and can transmit it through bites, otherwise the origins and background of the disease are a mystery. Its only known cure is the nectar of the rare Tin-Banana-Tu banana, which is a purple species of banana with an extremely foul taste, according to King K. Rool. Also a person can be immune to the disease if they have a very healthy diet, as General Klump mentioned that he rarely gets sick in general due to eating 100 garlic cloves a day: and so is not affected by Krusha's infection.

Cranky created a vaccine from the banana and gave the vaccine to his fellow Kongs. But after Diddy Kong tricks Cranky Kong by using two coconuts, Polly Roger infects Diddy by pecking his rump. Afterwards, Diddy spreads the disease to Krusha, who then spreads it to King K. Rool, simply because he cannot stop sneezing as a result of the disease. Eventually the three victims are cured just as the disease entered its final stages.

Symptoms

The deadly symptoms of the Kongo Bongo Gone Wrongo disease are explained through song by Cranky Kong, Candy Kong, and Dixie Kong:

  • Full-body chills
  • Runny nose
  • Severe sneezing
  • Laryngitis
  • Weakness
  • Wheezing
  • Green skin hue
  • A raspy, hoarse voice
  • Pressure within the brain
  • Devastating wrinkles on the stomach
  • A dead-feeling head

The disease is also likened to influenza when Candy says it's "like having [that disease], times one hundred and two".

Trivia

  • In real life, no one can feel any pain or damage inside the brain. However it is possible to feel rupturing blood vessels which could be a result of pressure within the brain. This symptom can occur before the fatal brain damage and so can explain why the episode's victims of the disease do not have permanent damage.
