Crops 'n' Robbers
Crops 'n' Robbers is a 2-vs-2 mini-game that is found in Mario Party 8. It is the 2-vs-2 minigame only game in Mario Party 8 where the players have diffrent controls.
Introduction
In the scene, the two Shy Guys are driving with their farm truckers as both of the them have teams in the container box. They stop at the middle of some type of farm as the teams get out from the container box, one player carrying the Hammer in each team. The camera shows a Monty Mole close up as the Monty Mole sees the other team; the Monty Mole goes back into the burrow. Then the camera moves back from the area, making the players able to see the area of the playfield the teams are in. Then the mini-game starts.
Controls
The people with the hammer: Hold the Wiimote vertically. Use the directional pad to move and swing the controller like a hammer to bash a Monty Mole.
The people without the hammer: Hold the Wiimote vertically. Use the directional pad to move and hold the A or B button while thrusting the Wiimote upward to pick a carrot.
Gameplay
Teamwork very important in this minigame. The characters with the hammer must bonk the Monty Moles when they appear from their holes. The Monty Moles can hide if you are too slow, so be quick! If a Monty Mole is hit, it will go back into it's hole and the hole will shrink, allowing the team to walk over it. The carrot pickers must pick carrots to clear as path as the hammerers have the same job. The hammerers can hurt their partner, so aim carefully! To win, bash all the Monty Moles and pick all the carrots.
Ending
At the end of the mini-game, the winner team wins as the team does winning poses while the other team is sad that they lost. The winner team runs to their farmer truck and gets in the container box (with their carrots), and then the Shy Guy drives away with the team in the container box. The other Shy Guy waits, but then drives away (with any carrots in the back).
