The Sales Bunny (also known as the Arcade Bunny) is the mascot of the game Nintendo Badge Arcade. Sales Bunny first appeared in StreetPass Mii Plaza when the application had its first, major update. All of the Sales Bunny's appearances thus far have been Nintendo 3DS games from the Nintendo eShop.

Development

The Sales Bunny has been through notable development changes over the span of its early appearances. Initially, she was portrayed as a female Mii, appearing in StreetPass Mii Plaza for her debut; this is a game where all characters are represented by the Mii avatars. Despite this, she was still physically similar to how she is now, with many of her facial expressions in this game being recognizable in her second appearance, Nintendo Badge Arcade, where he was now male and given a more, fully-formed figure for this game, as well as a fleshed-out color-palette; with his appearance as a Mii being mostly white-furred with a pink hue. He was also given his own, unique attire. As of his appearance in Real Escape Game x Nintendo 3DS: Escape from the Plan of Mega Destruction, he is depicted in his Mii form again.

His personality has developed more over time, with his debut showing signs of the same traits of his second appearance, only expanded upon for the latter. His personality-traits and character-role have carried on into his third appearance, despite the physical discrepancy.

The Sales Bunny has a name discrepancy, as well. In the English versions of StreetPass Mii Plaza, she is simply referred to as "the rabbit" in most texts. Her name is written as "Salesbunny" in the title of her theme-song, accessible in the Music Player.

History

StreetPass Mii Plaza

The Sales Bunny appears in StreetPass Mii Plaza on the Nintendo 3DS Nintendo eShop. She appears in rabbit-holes in Games mode for the two bundles of Premium content introduced with the game's updates. The Sales Bunny offers info on each game to try and sell the player on purchasing them. She also offers the game's Upgrade, shown when starting-up. There is also a Bunny Speech Bubble available for the the player's greeting; it is pink and has carrots and rabbit footprints. A wandering, bunny hero can be summoned in the Find Mii game, and the Bunny Ears item is based on it.

Additionally, she appears as the golden, trophy icon for the Game Vault mode on the main menu; this is a theme that carried-on with the Sales Bunny being depicted in a series of golden statues for the Collection mode in Nintendo Badge Arcade.

Nintendo Badge Arcade

In Nintendo Badge Arcade on the 3DS eShop, the Sales Bunny acts as the game's guide, providing information and news to the player, though this time, he is now male. He works in the arcade the game takes place in, a position he openly loves. The Sales Bunny is a hardcore gamer, being very enthusiastic about video-games and admitting that he works at the arcade so that he can play the games as soon as they come out. He is also very enthusiastic about the badges up for play in the arcade, and often alludes to his boss telling him to upsell. The Sales Bunny is featured in a number of his own series of badge-sets, as well, being offered under special promotion times.

Super Mario Maker

The Sales Bunny appears a Costume Mario character in Super Mario Maker. He was made available on December 18, 2015. He can be unlocked by clearing the Nintendo Badge Arcade Event Course.

The Sales Bunny was planned to be a character sooner, having all his sound files in-place as "Pink Rabbit" before they were removed for a time.

General information

Personality

The Sales Bunny has an extroverted personality and earnest demeanor. When speaking, he uses a lot of informal speech, using contractions and filler-words often. He is easily excitable, getting very animated and passionate when talking about his interests or explaining something. He can also be very humble, apologizing for his unusual or intense behavior.

Physical description

The Sales Bunny is an anthropomorphic rabbit, with pink fur and cream markings, and a short stature. The tips of his ears and eyebrows are red; with his ears turning red in a gradient. He has a pink nose and beady, black eyes. He also has a prominent, buck-tooth.

He wears a red button-down, with white sleeves and buttons, and red cuffs. On top, he wears a dark, grey vest, with light buttons. He wears a white name-tag with the letters, "ABCDE" in place of a name. He also wears a coin dispenser on his waist, dark blue-jeans, and dark, brown loafers.
