He appears as a playable fighter in ''[[Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U]]'', being an alternative costume to Captain Olimar, instead of taking up his own icon on the character selection screen. Unlike most other alternative costumes, the game acknowledges him as a separate character from Olimar, with the announcer, crowd, and character selection saying and displaying his name.
