The Nintendo DS handheld game system with two screens, the bottom one being a touch screen, that was released in 2004 by Nintendo. Probably, DS means Dual Screen. A newer model the DS Lite was released in 2006 with four brightnes settings and a smaller overall size(This having the negative side effect where a regular advance cartridge would stick out from the bottom in a similar fashion experienced when playing a Game Boy or Game Boy Color Cartridge in the older Game Boy SP). This was the first system Nintendo made to go online (Mario Kart DS being the first Nintendo made online game).
