Power Shot

Power Shots are used in games such as Mario Power Tennis and Mario Superstar Baseball. They are used offensively and defensively. They are used to help the player.

In Mario Power Tennis there are two types of Power Shots; Offensive Power Shots and Defensive Power Shots. Every player has their own distinctive power shots. The offensive power shot is used when the ball is near the player. These come with special effects to confuse the opponent(s). Defensive shots are used when the ball is out of the player's reach. These shots are very helpful by returning shots that couldn't normally be saved.

In Mario Superstar Baseball power shots are used in either pitching or batting. if you use one when you're pitching, you will throw a ball that does varying things, making it hard for the opponent to hit. If you use it offensivly when you're hitting, you will hit the ball in a way that is hard to catch for the CPU to catch. As with Mario Power Tennis, each player has their own special Power Shots or throws.

Power Shots also appear in Mario Golf 64 as a stronger version of a specific club. There is a meter starting at six that decreases if shots are made that don't have full power. Some characters have cool effects when a perfect power shot is executed like Mario's golf ball becomes a fireball.
