Currently, the article has citations for Kurasshā's appearance in ''Mario vs. Donkey Kong'', but not the Game Boy ''Donkey Kong''. Is there a source confirming that they are the same object in both games? While the size is approximately the same, they have a different appearance and behavior, originally acting more like Thwomps since they only fell when close by. They also don't seen to be mentioned in [https://imgur.com/a/UvABP Perfect Daijiten], which is odd since it [https://i.imgur.com/2QMFw9S.jpg states] that Ussun are like walking Thwimps rather than these blocks. This situation looks less like Bin & Sir Shovalot and more like Dōryī / Tane Pakkun & Dorakyū / Kōmori. Donkey Kong appearance?[edit]

Currently, the article has citations for Kurasshā's appearance in Mario vs. Donkey Kong, but not the Game Boy Donkey Kong. Is there a source confirming that they are the same object in both games? While the size is approximately the same, they have a different appearance and behavior, originally acting more like Thwomps since they only fell when close by. They also don't seen to be mentioned in Perfect Daijiten, which is odd since it states that Ussun are like walking Thwimps rather than these blocks. This situation looks less like Bin & Sir Shovalot and more like Dōryī / Tane Pakkun & Dorakyū / Kōmori. LinkTheLefty (talk) 12:08, 22 December 2017 (EST)

To follow-up, the Donkey Kong Shogakukan guide generically refers to this object as (iwa, rock). This looks like either a split or a part conjecture case. LinkTheLefty (talk) 15:35, 11 June 2018 (EDT)
Probably should be split then. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 21:38, 11 June 2018 (EDT)
Then how about Thwomp Block since that was this article's previous conjectural title? It seems an apt enough descriptive name. LinkTheLefty (talk) 21:46, 11 June 2018 (EDT)
Or maybe "Rock (Donkey Kong Game Boy)?" (We still need an article for the recurrent kickable object....) Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 21:48, 11 June 2018 (EDT)
Wouldn't that be confusing considering these aren't the only rocks in the game? LinkTheLefty (talk) 05:48, 12 June 2018 (EDT)
How about moving the Game Boy information over to Thwomp, given the identical behavior and the fact that Ussun's name and encyclopedia description both allude to it? LinkTheLefty (talk) 14:55, 28 January 2019 (EST)
Updating for future reference: as shown here, the Game Boy Donkey Kong guide has a full name for the object (上下じょうげするいわ). Note that in the Mario vs. Donkey Kong Shogakukan guide,「上下じょうげするブロック」is used in the object's description, which to me cements it as a rename. There's also the possibility that the remake's internal names were carried over from the original development cycle (as evidenced by Brickman), so my guess is the Thwomp Platform name may have dated back when the Mario vs. Donkey Kong version was more like a normal Thwomp like the Game Boy Donkey Kong version. All in all, the current article seems fine. LinkTheLefty (talk) 09:40, March 9, 2024 (EST)
