A bub is a small, slow red fish, found in the course Dire, Dire Docks in Super Mario 64, he follows you for a short distance. Just avoid them and they won't bother you.
Bub is also the Bob-omb kid in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. He'll give you a Shine Sprite if you give him the train conductor's Autograph.
