Towers and Castles in NSMBW[edit]

I think you may be a little bit confused, so let me break this down for you.

Tower levels are the vertical-progressing fortresses like these:A fortress in New Super Mario Bros. Wii These levels generally involve trying to reach the top of the stage, and generally use enemies stationed on platforms, such as Dry Bones

Castle levels are the horizontal-progressing fortresses like these:A Castle in New Super Mario Bros. Wii These levels often contain tricky sideways platforming, harder variants of the Koopaling Boss fights, and indeed, Lava Bubbles.

These two kinds of courses are not the same thing.

Lava Bubbles do not appear in Tower courses, as the stage's vertical format would make their functionality impractical in this type of stage. Lava is generally absent from these courses for the same reason.

However, Lava Bubbles do appear in most of the game's Castle levels, which is where Lava is generally encountered outside of World 8.

Please keep this in mind before editing anymore articles related to these types of courses. Wandering Poplin (talk) 01:50, June 26, 2026 (UTC)
