Template:New media

This template is used for tagging upcoming and recently-released media, such as a game. It displays {{upcoming}} by default and switches to {{just released}} after the release date.

After a month has passed since the release date, the article will be added to Category:Articles with expired notices and the template should be removed.

Usage

The following parameters are available:

• 1 - The type of media being released (default is game).
• 2 - The past tense verb to use after release (default is released, e.g. opened for a theme park).
• section - Set to yes if a section is being tagged rather than the full article.
• date - The release date of the media in question (e.g. June 1, 2026).
  • This parameter is required in order for the template to switch to {{just released}}.
