Article should be renamed

Basically the article is good for what it is, but taking the name of "Okusan" from the Donkey Kong Country 3 mangas as the leading "official" name for K. Rool's wife from the game is weird. I had started a petition for something like this with regards to Mario's dad, but it's weird to make an article focusing on all appearances of a character with the basic concept of "K. Rool's wife" and use the name from one of those appearances as the de-facto name for all instances of the character, this isn't something that makes sense to argue is an "officialization" and/or consolidation of the character considering that it's from ancillary material such as mangas and it instead appears closer to being fan interpretation under the guise of all Mario media being the same canon. I don't feel like starting a petition for this yet but I would simply rename this article to "K. Rool's wife" as per the Mario's dad proposal, and from there I'd make very minor tweaks to the body of the article to leave no ambiguity in regards to each instance of the character belonging in any sort of unified canon, as that isn't really the case. --Superstarxalien169 11:02, September 9, 2025 (EDT)

I believe the article has this name entirely because of her appearances in 4koma Gag Battle and 4koma Manga Ōkoku, both of which call her Okusan or Okusan bijin. Had it not been for those appearances, K. Rool's wife would've remained nothing more than a footnote on the List of implied characters, so she's essentially treated as a manga character instead of an amalgamation of characters sharing the same concept, like Mario's dad. Not that it would be an entirely bad idea to treat her as an amalgamation of characters that share the same concept, as The Queen Krapp and Queen Mire concepts were also mentioned. rend (talk) (edits) 11:17, September 9, 2025 (EDT)

Well, yeah, the article itself is already about an amalgamation of characters as it talks about the manga characters, which are completely separate from one another, as well as the implied character in DKC3 and early concepts for K. Rool's wife in earlier games, so it only makes sense to rename the article away from that. --Superstarxalien169 11:22, September 9, 2025 (EDT)

But considering that is her only official nominative... we can't really put a conjectural name of "K. Rool's wife" when there is a name for her, even if it's the Japanese for "wife" (with adjacent "beautiful"). "Mario's dad" was at least used. Mariuigi Khed 12:58, September 9, 2025 (EDT)

There's no rules on the wiki saying you can't use a conjectural name for an article about a general character concept without an official name of its own. The wiki is already doing it for Mario's dad, even if it was technically used in official media before, because it's as generic as K. Rool's wife is. There's nothing conjectural about either subject.
