Goombas, Koopas, etc.[edit]
Considering how prominent Goombas, Koopas, etc. are in the Mario series as a whole, should we be counting their reappearances as "references"? If their sprites from Super Mario Bros. are reused, sure, but should an enemy from that game reappearing be enough to qualify on its own? --Bee Kirby (talk) 15:40, May 9, 2025 (EDT)
- No, since because they became established recurring characters, it's not a reference to this specific game.

Merge back to Super Mario Bros.[edit]
About a year ago, the user "Waluigi Time" stated that this article being split from Super Mario Bros. should be reversed as it doesn't meet the criteria for splits. Recently, I noticed a new format of references list sections on Mario Kart World, which I like. I think that the contents here should be moved back to the SMB1 article for the former reason with the latter format. Yours truly, SleepyRedHair.
