Internalized name[edit]

I usually opt for internalized names when it comes to characters that don't have names otherwise, but implying that "Guigi" is also an official name because of an off-path file name when the character is referred as "Gooigi" literally everywhere else is a misleading stretch. I think it would be better off in the trivia section. Having it in the introduction seems like a little much. --DeepFriedCabbage 19:09, June 24, 2019 (EDT)

eh, I think it's about as valid as calling Olimar "pikmin" or Giga Bowser "gkoopa". I think it should just be removed. BabyLuigiFire.png Ray Trace(T|C) 19:33, June 24, 2019 (EDT)
Yeah, I really don't see the need for it to be mentioned. File names like that can easily be placeholders, names used earlier in development, or typos, and most likely wouldn't be updated because it's not really necessary, and it's not even the game files, it's an image on the official website. Nobody's going to see it except for people digging through it. My opinion is that file names should only be used as an absolute last resort when we have nothing else to go by, not used as an alternate name for a subject. --Waluigi's head icon in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. While I am interested to see if "Guigi" is within the game files (as in present in every copy of the game, directly from the developers), that's not quite the case here, so it might be best left as a redirect for now. LinkTheLefty (talk) 20:33, June 24, 2019 (EDT)
What I wonder is if Gooigi's name was originally spelled as "Guigi". --DeepFriedCabbage 20:44, June 24, 2019 (EDT)
