Release date[edit]
The only newspaper ad I could find is from 1984. I strongly suspect that it was released in '82-'83, when the arcade game was at the height of its popularity. It simply could not have been released in '81 since the arcade machines weren't sold in the US until September and the famous Cabarga poster that this candy maze bases its art from wasn't published until October 1. That would leave only three months to license and release a product, which is very unrealistic. The related Pac-Man Candy Maze's earliest ads were in October '82.
