The Crate Pianta (also known as the Crate Guy) is a tan Pianta who wears glasses in Super Mario Sunshine. He only appears in a crate-filled building near the Shine Gate in Delfino Plaza. When Mario enters the building, the tan Pianta informs Mario that smashing every crate within 30 seconds will earn him a prize. After Mario breaks all of the crates by ground pounding them, the Crate Pianta gives him a Shine Sprite as a reward.
Mario can earn three different Shine Sprites (including a Silver one for the third time) by playing the Pianta's games, each level getting increasingly difficult with more crates added.
