The Mario vs. Luigi Tour was the thirty-first tour of Mario Kart Tour, which began on November 18, 2020 and ended on December 1, 2020. This was the first tour to feature a Team Rally event, in which players select one of two teams at the start of the tour and try to collect as many team tokens scattered throughout the race for their team as they can by using drivers on their team. Once the teams are chosen, they cannot be changed later. The teams for the Mario vs. Luigi Tour were Team Mario and Team Luigi. All of the races in the tour are played in the two teams, with the exception of bonus challenges, races in auto mode, and Coin Rush, in which cases, as with event tokens, team tokens cannot be earned. The team with the most team tokens collected won 15 rubies, 3,000 coins and a badge, as well as the title screen being changed to a picture of the team's leader (Mario or Luigi), while the losing team earned 10 rubies and 1,500 coins.
In a similar vein to the Trick Tour, every course within the tour was a Reverse/Trick variant, while Builder Luigi from Super Mario Maker 2 was added as a playable character. The menu's background featured the hills and the block formations from SNES Mario Circuit 1, SNES Mario Circuit 2, and RMX Mario Circuit 1 as landmarks for this tour.
Team Mario, where players collected 61% of team tokens, won the Team Rally. Although those players received the specified rewards, the title screen of the game remained the same as the one during and after the 1st Anniversary Tour, though it was only until after the start of the Rosalina Tour that the title screen changed to the aforementioned picture representing the victory of Team Mario over Team Luigi.
The Mario vs. Luigi Tour reused the Peach Cup's bonus challenge from the New York Tour for this tour's Pink Gold Peach Cup, the Diddy Kong Cup's bonus challenge from the 2019 Halloween Tour for this tour's Hammer Bro Cup, the Daisy Cup's bonus challenge from the London Tour for this tour's Ice Mario Cup, the Peachette Cup and Wario Cup's bonus challenges from the Holiday Tour for this tour's Wario Cup and Ludwig Cup, the Yoshi Cup's bonus challenge from the New Year's Tour for this tour's Shy Guy Cup, and the Peachette Cup's bonus challenge from the Mario Bros. Tour for this tour's Metal Mario Cup.

The Coin Box Pipe held 50 items again, and contained these items:
In the Mario vs. Luigi Tour, the All-Clear Pipe held all regular High-End items, but only shot out one item at random and could contain any of these items:
Mario vs. Luigi Pipe 1
Mario vs. Luigi Pipe 2
Coin Box Pipe
The limited-time event where event tokens appeared began on November 18, 2020 and lasted until December 1, 2020, starting on the first week of the tour like the Token Shop in the 1st Anniversary Tour. Event tokens could be earned by collecting them in courses.
The shop featured a variety of set and randomized items available for purchase. The item slots in the shop are unlocked based on the highest tier of players.
