When [[Cappy]] is thrown at one, the cloud grows into a cloud [[platform]], similarly to the ones [[Cloud Mario]] produces in ''[[Super Mario Galaxy 2]]''. The platform can be of one of a number of sizes, depending on the hat cloud in question. Much like the Cloud Mario platforms, the platform of a hat cloud is only temporary. After enough time passes, the platform shrinks back down and goes back to being a hat cloud once at minimum size. Just before this happens, the platform starts to swell and contract. Performing a [[Ground Pound]] on a hat cloud after activating it makes the platform last slightly longer. | ||
