Mario Wall Jumping.

The Wall Jump is a move that Mario or Luigi can use in various games. In narrow passageways Mario and Luigi can use it to ascend to the top. They jump wall to wall with a little more height with each Jump. They can reach great heights, cross wide gaps, or just save themselves from falling into a bottomless pit. It takes a bit of practice to master though. To use press the jump button while sliding down a wall. If the walls are too far from each other Mario won't be able to use the move correctly. It has been used in many platformer games.

The move first appeared in Super Mario 64 and of course appeared in the remake. It also appeared in Super Mario Sunshine, and in Super Smash Bros. Melee. The latest appearance of the move is New Super Mario Bros..

So far, only Mario and Luigi can use it. Mario was the first to use it because it was an exclusive move to him in Super Mario 64 DS, but in New Super Mario Bros. Luigi could use it too.
